Community South is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2009, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules. In addition, NOW accounts with low interest rates (paying no higher than 0.50%) and Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts are considered noninterest bearing transaction accounts and are eligible for this program. The Maximum Checking account is not eligible for the Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Funds automatically swept into an interest bearing account or non-deposit account (such as a loan) are not eligible for the Transaction Account Guarantee Program and void the FDIC's guarantee with respect to the transferred funds.
